I've met Lacuna Coil a few times.. most recent time was last July when they headlined over Dommin and Seventh Void: Also met Johnny Kelly and Kenny Hickey at that show (from Seventh Void/Type O Negative): In Omaha, May 2007, the played a free acoustic show before hitting the stage that night at the Jagermeister Tour with Shadows Fall: Also saw and met them at another acoustic show in Kansas City in April 2006, before hitting the stage that night with Rob Zombie.. for some reason it's not letting me pull up the pictures, but you can see them at my myspace: viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhotos&albumID=2910729The first time I met them was 2004 after they played their set with POD (we're still wondering why they toured with POD, lol).. they were the first band on and they came out to their merchandise boothe to say hi to everyone and sign autographs. Didn't get pictures then. First time I saw them was in 2001, when they opened up for Moonspell in Cleveland. Great show, except the sound sucked.. it was a small venue and had about 50 people show up, and the soundguy sucked. --------------------------- Other than Lacuna Coil.. I'm a big fan of Type O Negative, Moonspell, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Tool, White & Rob Zombie, Offspring, Dommin, Seraphim Shock, The Genitorturers, Charon, Incubus... mainly metal, rock, industrial, and some punk.

My all time favorite band is Metallica but haven't really cared too much for anything post Black album. Bullet For My Valentine, Three Days Grace, Slayer, Sepultura, Ozzy, Disturbed, 3 Doors Down.....I like metal, alternative, rock (hard and classic). Not into pop, rap, country or raggae. Been to a ton of concerts; Metallica, Ozzy and AC/DC being the top 3 for putting on a kick ass show. The last 2 concerts were pretty opposite one another, Ozzfest vs. Bret Michaels, lol. Both were great though.

my favorites are typically barrier breaking, timeless, avant garde, pioneering music like: dog fashion disco, the violent femmes, black sabbath, polkadot cadaver, mr bungle, primus, king crimson, tub ring, fugazi, pink floyd, tom waits, rage against the machine, led zeppelin, camper van beethoven, lollipop lust kill, rasputina, the talking heads and some others.
a lot of early 90s late 80s grunge/rock/noise stuff: melvins, alice in chains, faith no more, clutch, mad season, kyuss, screaming trees, the jesus lizard, big black, the pixies, the meat puppets, butthole surfers, mudhoney, cracker, seven mary three
i grew up listening to the goth rock/metal/nu metal eric and mortis named, then moved into forms of metal like grind, deathcore, technical death metal, but now mainly listen to prog/sludge/doom metal in the style more like black sabbath like: mastodon, baroness, eyehategod, the ocean, kylesa, dystopia, down, high on fire, acid bath, minsk, etc. i listen to some old school hip hop/rap and underground NY stuff. namely stuff about technical flows and innovative beats, not modern rap or gangster stuff like aesop rock, the beastie boys, public enemy, el-p, nas (1st album only), tribe called quest, the roots, MFdoom, etc.
i listen to some melodic folk/emotional/indie typically depressing stuff like elliott smith, jeff buckley, neutral milk hotel, mark lanegan, dr dog, etc.
the only really "modern" stuff i like other than some metal and hip hop is more raw rock like: the white stripes, queens of the stone age, the black keys, the black angels, etc.
as you can tell i like a lot of different music...... i didn't even get into the ton of 60s and 70s stuff i like.. TONS! i'm very much into music and film, just as much as MMA, but i doubt many of these bands are too familiar.

The Violent Femmes were the headliner at the very first concert I ever went to. August 1996 - Jayhawk Music Festival in Lawrence, Kansas... lots of alternative bands.. Poe, Semi-Sonic, 7 Mary 3, Hum, The Violent Femmes, and tons more. I almost got thrown up on stage during them, lol.
I've also seen Dog Fashion Disco. They actually opened up for Lacuna Coil in 2003.

I've seen Primus as well.
Btw.. just noticed you mentioned Lollipop Lust Kill, Mike.. interesting. I didn't think they got very big outside of the midwest/great lakes area. I know they had their debut album (which actually wasn't as good as their demo, imo) out in stores for a short while.. before they called it quits.
When I was in a band in Cleveland in 2001.. I was talking to the lead singer of LLK (who went by the name, Evvy Pedder).. we were talking about trading shows, where our band would play with them in Toledo (where they were from) or Detroit, and they would come to Cleveland and play a show with us... but, he didn't really seem as interested as I was to trade shows. He had other things on his mind that day apparently.. like getting laid.. lol.
When I was in the band in Cleveland (we were called Nocturnal Solace), we opened for Mushroomhead and Dying Fetus, and played a couple of shows with a band called Somnus. After I left the band, they opened for Arch Enemy.

that's awesome! yeah, i was on LLK's forum with evvy and traveled to their final show. they didn't have a huge following. i guess the demo you're referring to is actually their debut album, motel murder madness. my so called knife is their second and last album. i actually prefer the second i think. not really sure, like them both.
i've also seen primus. i've seen a lot of the band's you guy's named. genitorturers, dying fetus, arch enemy, slayer, lacuna coil, dope, and disturbed. actually, i went to a disturbed show where dog fashion disco opened and they made comments "dog fashion what??!!! that's retarded." on their message board. my brother and i sported 'dog fashion disco pit crew. FUCK DISTURBED!" shirts and it was absolutely insane! during DFD, the pit was the craziest i've ever seen it at that venue and everyone was gunning for us, but we were used to rougher pits than disturbed fans and hung in there. longest 6 songs of my life.

I have a picture of me with Jen from The Genitorturers somewhere. In 2006, I managed a band that opened for them and the band Mortiis (no, I did not get my name from them, lol). I've also seen Slayer (Ozzfest 99') and Dope (w/ Slipknot and Coal Chamber also in 1999). Actually.. LLK's very first demo, Candycanes and Razorblades.. had 3 songs on it. What disappointed me the most was that Knee Deep in the Dead was on there, and it was much faster and heavier, then they slowed it down on My So Called Knife....... Knee Deep in the Dead was my favorite song before they slowed it down. EDIT: Go to www.playlist.com and type in "Knee Deep in the Dead".. didn't find the original recording.. but there is a mash up with LLK's Knee Deep in the Dead and Gwen Stefani's "If I was a Rich Girl" that has Knee Deep's original music in it. The mash up is actually decent, too, lol.

OMG completely forgot CC&RB... damn, lost that with my old external hard drive probably 5 or 6 years ago and had completely forgotten.
you never heard motel murder madness? that has all 3 songs on it, too. then, knee deep and perfect woman made it to MSCK. i'd have to ask an old board friend, but i believe cc&r is the same recordings that made it on mmm. don't know. might research it. my favorite songs are perfect woman, killgreedy, and knee deep in the dead. i'd have to compare the KDitD differences but i know i prefer the my so called knife versions of the other two. BUT, i love the sludgy "slow" sound, to me that is "heavier."

Yeah, I've heard Motel Murder Madness. I was saying the first one I heard was the demo with just the 3 songs on it. MMM had Ted on it.. I don't think "Knife" did.
